notdreaming | 002 - I know who I was when I woke up this morning

I'll be honest, that was a lot less bizarre than turning into a Terran mechanic.

[ Kara brushes a strand of hair out of her face and over her ear while she faces the camera, which she has set up at eye level and is apparently quite comfortable using. She smiles amiably at the device, as though to verify that it really wasn't as bad as certain people have made it out to be. She turns away for a brief moment to pick up a book, which she displays to the camera: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. ]

I was wondering how many of you are familiar with this book. I found it in the library. I thought it was pretty weird as a kid, but I just read it again and I really kind of like it. Is it true that it was written for the daughter of a family friend of the author's?

Oh, and two other things. [ She counts them off on her hand. ]

To the boy who made the pies, they were fantastic, and thank you! [ She grins brightly before turning sober again and a bit sheepish. She's not really sure this is worth mentioning. ] And, uh... I really have to ask, does anyone know what the deal is with the huge dog? Not you, Dog, I know why you're here, but this one doesn't talk. I've seen it twice now, and never with anyone else around. It seems nice enough, just... strange.

I spend relatively little time in that room, so I do not speak from much personal experience.

Well that was my assumption. And anyway I saw the same one in the hallway during the flood. At least, I think it was the same. You weren't... exactly the same, either.

What you saw was the side-effect of our Admiral's inability to navigate a simple vessel through Space. It is of little consequence to my current existence.

If it's so little consequence what's the harm in talking about it?

I do not function on any emotions, let alone an excess of them.
