007 - If I had a world of my own...

I took a look around port and it looks amazing. They're having this exhibition with every bizarre sort of science they can manage! I'm sure I don't know every scientist on board, but if anyone would like to look around with me it looks like a ton of fun. Bruce, maybe? Chromie? Megamind?

I had to do a bit of shopping first, since my clothes got some strange looks. The dresses are a bit... wider.

[ To prove it, she steps back from the camera and does a little twirl in her shiny new getup. Naturally, she has added a white shawl tied around her shoulders like a cape. They're the height of fashion on Krypton, okay? ]

I found a great place to buy clothes, though, so if you want to come along and need something to wear, just let me know and I'll show you!

I can't be completely sure, but my powers seem to work fine, so even if something bad happens it will be alright.

Oh, that is a relief! I hate ports that strip me of my abilities. Hm. It's an Earth-variant, right?

[notdreaming]

I have to assume so, but apart from Krypton Earth is the only planet I've been to. [ So, it might be somewhere else entirely. She wouldn't know. ]

I guess asking someone would get you strange looks.

I have been trying to avoid that sort of thing.

Well, I would love to come out and see the local technology! I'll change my dress.

[notdreaming]

Great! I'll meet you right outside the barge. I even got a pamphlet about the exhibits.

You know I love pamphlets.

[Chromie giggles and sure enough... is nowhere to be seen outside of the Barge.

There is, however, a short human woman with Chromie's plaited braids wearing a dress with a bustle and prodding at a communicator.]

[ It takes her a minute to even consider the taller woman, but those braids make her squint. ]

Chromie?

Hello, Kara!

[The woman waves. She has Chromie's voice.]

Hello! I almost didn't recognize you! [ But she speeds over, pamphlet in hand. ]

They have an entire building just for uses of electricity, so I thought we could start there. What do you think?

[strangehistorian]

That sounds wonderful! We don't have nearly as much electricity at home as there is on the Barge. I'd love to know more!

[notdreaming]

We mostly use light on Krypton, but I know the basics of electric force. It should be interesting!

[ And funny, because young civilizations are totally hilarious. ]

And there are food stands all over the place so we can grab a bite on the way over there. It's on the other side of the fair.

Oh good! Local food should be fun! I hope they have something with meat.

From the sounds of things I think the problem will be finding food without meat.

Are you a vegetarian?

[She starts to meander towards the crowd without looking up from the map. She still doesn't bump into anyone.]

[ Kara keeps her eyes up on the crowd, the exhibits, everything, drinking it up like the tourist she is. ]

Oh, no. But vegetables do provide important nutrition, and I'm not sure how many are available at these stands! [ That one sells nothing but ham. What is ham, anyway? ]

My race is carnivorous.

[Oh, ham. She likes ham. Maybe later.]

Humans like a mix, I'm sure there are vegetables and sweets here somewhere.

[Humans love sugar. It's pretty weird.]

[notdreaming]

It wouldn't be much of a fair without sweets. [ SWEETS ARE THE BEST. ]

I don't care for them, but I'll keep a look out!

Thanks! Chocolate especially, we didn't have anything like it on Krypton.

[ Kara does not make this connection. ]

It's not the most comfortable, but it's kind of cute.

I never had a problem with it. [She's sort of smiling. Their last discussion aside... Kara's still a friend. She hopes.]
