29 - The horror of that moment I shall never, never forget

Dean attacked Anya.

[ Kara is furious and covered in blood. Don't worry, none of it is hers - it's smeared over her arms, hands, and chest from carrying Anya. There's also a big streak across her face, clearly from pushing her hair back over her ear. She's returned to the infirmary after first giving Anya triage and second locking Dean in a cell. ]

He's in Zero now. If the punishment isn't leaving him to rot there for the rest of his sorry existence, I don't want anything to do with it. [ Her voice is icy cold with the hatred she's feeling right now. Not just for Dean, either - for the Admiral too. ]

Anya is alive and being treated. I doubt she'll welcome casual visitors.

Ah, and maintenance - Pietro and I had to destroy one of the cells. I don't know if the Admiral will replace what was broken. He doesn't seem to care.

[ Kara almost snarls. She's clearly still dealing with a lot of anger here. ]

She was innocent. Dean has clearly lost his mind. [ And should be thrown off the ship, but does the Admiral care? Of course not. ]

[ Aw, shit. Kara is just glad Anya is lucid. ]

I didn't mean to, sorry. I wasn't sure how you would be feeling.

Because the Admiral wouldn't open it.

[There's this sick feeling, when you've had too much soda and suddenly you feel like you're stomach is bubbling from the inside out, and you're just waiting to puke your guts out but you know it won't come. He feels sick like that, but antsy, too: he needs to check in with people, needs to see them, needs to yell at them and god, how does this keep happening?]

Are you okay? [She's right in front of him, technologically speaking, and she was involved: it's not fair, not to make sure she's okay, too.]

[ The question comes as such a surprise she doesn't know what else to say. ]

I- I'm fine. [ She's not fine - she's never seen anything like what Dean did to Anya - but it feels wrong to say anything else. ]

[The video is sudden, out of left field for him, and public.

And Kara is covered in blood. Likely not hers, because she is Kryptonian and damn near invincible herself, but the blood belongs to someone. Anya. Dean. Both.

He's out of his seat immediately, face paling.]

[ She can't bring herself to describe what she saw. ]

He did everything he could think of, I think.

What about you? Do you need anything?

[notdreaming]

[ He looks strange, and it takes her a moment to figure out what it is. That's distraction enough that she can lie about being okay a little easier. What she needs is a shower and a cuddle pile. ]

I'm alright. Cassel and I are going to clean up.

[When Kara comes back down to Zero, Pietro's still there. He's standing over Dean, breathing hard and still looking pale and shell-shocked. He can't quite convince himself it's real - that it happened, that he won't wake up from a nightmare any second.

When he turns to look at Kara as she comes back in, it's obvious that Dean's shifted a little from where he fell. And his face is considerably bloodier.

Pietro clenches his jaw and raises his chin, challenging her to comment.]

[ She doesn't even feign surprise. Giving Anya triage has left her bloodier and angrier, not less. She looks down at Dean with disgust on her face. ]

We should get him into a secure cell before he wakes up.

[ He could care less about the others, even if he has a debt to Dean.]

[ Somehow it's his message that makes her relax slightly, causing her lip to quiver threateningly. Whether the threat is a snarl or tears there's no saying. ]

Attacked. [The word sounds hollow, as she stares at Kara, stares at the blood, at Anya's blood - ]

Tell me, Kara. [Deeper, now, low and edged as she tries not to decimate everything around her.] Tell me what he did to her.

[ She opens her mouth to answer, then closes it and shakes her head. ]

[ She doesn't even remotely have the words to describe what she witnessed. ]
