010 - I don't see how he can ever finish if he doesn't begin

[ Kara has been waffling over this decision for weeks. But she's been here six months now without an inmate, and she has to make herself useful somehow. How better than by sharing the rich knowledge of her most basic education? ]

If there's interest, I think I'd like to teach a class on basic scientific principles across the worlds. I've been doing some research, and it seems that for the most part the basics really are the same universally.

I can teach you about any subject matter that isn't considered specialty, but I know that what's considered 'basic' is probably different in each culture, so I was going to start with chemistry, biology and physics.

[ And now, having passed through the planned parts of her speech, Kara's anxiety begins to show. But mooooooom, what if they don't like me? ]

I know there's at least one person who's interested in learning.

There has to be someone else, doesn't there?

[ Ladies and gentlemen, your 18 16 year old science teacher. ]

[ Alright that's enough, where is she, Kara is now sweeping the entire barge at super speed looking for this woman so she can show her a piece of her mind. ]

[She was taking a stroll up on deck, so she'll be pretty easy to find. No door kicking in necessary.]

[ Then it should be exceptionally easy for Kara to grab one of the woman's ankles and hold her upside down some twenty feet into the air. ]

I have had about enough of your attitude problem. You're way too old to be behaving like such a child.

[It is easy. And it gets a kitty yowl from her, before she controls it and sneers at Kara...upside down, with all that black hair falling down. Goodness that is a lot of hair.]

What are you going to do, Warden? Kill me? Throw me into the vast reaches of space? You wouldn't dare.

[ She looks down her nose at Catra, enjoying the position of power for a moment. ]

No, I'm going to hold you like this until you say 'please' like you mean it.

[force_captain]

[She crosses her arms and snarls.]

Then we'll be here until one of us dies.

With out age difference, it's going to be you. Even if you don't consider the amount of blood that's going to be pooling in your skull soon.

[ She can flip Catra over, but she's not gonna tell her that. ]

[force_captain]

[Yeah her face is getting flushed, but she is a stubborn thing. She also thinks Kara won't go through with it. Because Kara is "good".]

Either way, you'll have killed me for your pride, baby warden. Tsk tsk tsk.

[ She smiles sweetly down at the woman. ]

Oh, we'll sort something out. How's your head?

[force_captain]

[Nope. Catra is super stubborn. She's not even acknowledging Kara's question. Besides, she could probably guess. Catra's face was getting redder. ]

You think holding me upside makes you any more capable an instructor? You might be able to beat me physically girl, but it doesn't make you better.

Misbehaving children get a time out.

[ She doesn't even look at Catra. The woman is fine if she's still talking. ]

So which is it? Am I old or a child? If you can't make this distinction, how do you expect anyone to take you seriously.


[Woozy? Not that she'll admit. Nope. She'll never say "please"! Never!! ]

I think it's safe to say that you're the oldest child I've ever seen.

[ That's a 'both'. ]

You think so? I'm not the one who resorted to brute force because my feelings were bruised. That smacks far more of a childish bully.

[Oh hey, look at the pretty sparkles. They're just dancing across get vision. ]

[ She glances down, utterly unmoved by the accusation. This is time out, not brute force. ]

I can see the blood getting to your head, you know. The veins are all swollen. You don't have a history of head injuries, do you? It might knock you out faster than I expected.

[force_captain]

[Hahahahahaha! History of head injuries. /wipes tear ]

[If her tone was a liquid, it'd be acid.]

[ She will just hang out up here. ]

[Oh yes, yes Kara would see. Because even though Catra keeps up the snarling, and a little bit of name calling, it's slurring and it's not long before her eyes are fluttering, rolling back in her head.

Yeah, Catra's been hit a lot. ]

[ Oooookay. Time to set her down. She gently lays the woman back down on the ground, checking first to make sure there isn't any serious internal damage.
